About Us

Pack 706 is chartered by St Peter's United Methodist Church located at 15599 Mountain Road in Montpelier, Virginia.  Our Cub Scouts are first through fifth graders from Rockville, Montpelier, Beaverdam and Ashland . Spring recruiting for rising first graders is held the second week of May to allow the new Cubs to join in the fun of summer activities, but new scouts are welcome at any time.  Boy Scouts from Troop 706 serve as Den Chiefs to help mentor our cubs and provide a relationship as they continue on into Boy Scouting.

During the 2012-2013 year, our Pack of 46 scouts and over 15 adult leaders enjoy summer activies such as trips to Squirrels Baseball games, Geocaching, Day Camp, Overnight Camps, Kicker Soccer, Bowling, and "Drive In" Movie nights. We also organize special trips during the summer. Imagine camping on the USS Yorktown in Charlestown or on the Yorktown Coast Guard Base!   Throughout the year, our scouts and our families have a lot of fun as we learn new skills and meet new people at events such as the District Campout, Space Derby, Ashland Parade,Holiday Auction, Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, Arrow of Light, Bridging, Spring Pack Campout, Raingutter Regatta, and Graduation.  Pack 706 Cub Scouts are proud to help our community and annually complete several service projects including participating in LemonAid,James River Clean up, Charter Organization grounds maintenance, Scouting for Food and an Auction to benefit Helping Hands of Hanover.  The Pack is proud to have raised over $700 for Helping Hands of Hanover in Dec 2013.

Pack 706 is a great group of boys and families who "Do their Best" and combine important life lessons with fun!  We welcome new families to join in at any time.  Click on "Contact Us" if you would like more information.
